Part D Information

What is Medicare Part D coverage?

Medicare Part D plans help pay for your prescription drugs that are not covered by Part A and B.

When am I eligible?

If you are eligible for Medicare Parts A or B, you are generally also eligible for Medicare Part D.

What do Part D plans cover?

While all Part D plans are required to cover certain common types of drugs, the specific prescription drugs covered by a Medicare Part D plan vary by plan type and insurance carrier. Some prices vary due to an in network pharmacy versus an out of network pharmacy. Every plan has its own list of covered medications, called a formulary.

How do I find the best plan to cover my prescriptions?

Before enrolling, you should review each Medicare Part D plan’s formulary to understand which of your drugs are covered. The drugs you take may not be covered in every Medicare Part D formulary. This is where we come in to play. We use a program provided by the government that has all available prescription plans. We cross reference these with your medication list to find the most affordable plan available.

When do I enroll?

Annual Open Enrollment is available from October 15th to December 7th every year. That means we can review everything to set up your plan for the upcoming year.

If you are new to Medicare you typically enroll in Part D when you enroll in your Part B plan.
