With the new year comes a new part B deductible. We thought this would be a good time to inform you of the new rate and to review all that plan B does for you.
The part B deductible is now $233.00 for the year 2022. Once your deductible is met you are then held responsible for the remaining 20% of the Medicare Approved Amount that is billed. This typically refers to most doctor services (including inpatient hospital services), outpatient therapy, and durable medical equipment.
You also want to make sure to enroll for Part B when you’re first eligible to avoid that late penalty we discussed in previous blogs. This penalty will be applied as long as you have your Part B. Typically, this will increase your premium by 10% for the standard 12 month period.
